PubsysEdit 2.1 Released
Version 2.1: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/static/firefox/pubsysedit_v21.xpi
- Direct access to edit a story if you are on a story level URL.
- Access to the following section-specific items (menu appears at the top of the screen):
- Highlight Lists
- Published Items
- Edit Section
- Templates
- Page Elements
- Aliases
- Rebuild Index
- Site Hierarchy (this is for entire site)
- Access to the following on a per link basis off the web page (icons appear in the mix with content):
= Edit Story
= Edit Tout (If your site uses these)
= Story Assets
= Gallery
= Published Items
= Bulk Story Mgmt
- Make the template modifications* and get all the features available (my recommendation)
- Give me your site ID so I can add it to the configuration and you can at least edit stories and galleries. I have pre-seeded the plugin with the following sites: Miami and Raleigh.
Depending on your comfort level — you choose the path ![]()
Notes
- You still must log in to Site Manager before using this extension
- You may see edit buttons on links to other MI sites but not have the ability to edit. Example: McClatchy DC content. It all depends on your permissions.
- If you are hiding <divs> the extension only works on what is revealed.
* TEMPLATE MODIFICATIONS
- Add the following tag below the <body> tag in your generic.comp:<div id=”pubSys” editUser=”*Site Manager ID” editSection=”<& /mi/pubsys/section/id &>”></div>*Site Manager ID is the ID for your installation. You can grab this by looking at almost any link generated by PubSys while you are logged in.
- All story links generated by your components should have two attributes added (name and storyid). Inserting this code: name=”story” storyid=”<& /mi/pubsys/story/id &>” inside the <a> tag will accomplish this nicely.
